Seahawks fire Bates

The Seattle Seahawks have fired offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates just days after their playoff loss to the Chicago Bears.

It’s an interesting decision given he worked just one year under head coach Pete Carroll with a group lacking in talent.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was banged up most of the year behind an offensive line still being rebuilt.

They didn’t have a decent running back until trading for Marshawn Lynch, and the wideouts are not stars.

The Seahawks finished just 28th in the league in total yards, 31st in rushing and 23rd in scoring.
