The Seattle Seahawks got the Pete Carroll era off to a roaring start with a 31-6 pounding of the San Francisco 49ers.
Seattle weathered a strong start by the 49ers by keeping them out of the end zone and holding them to two field goals.
It seemed to give the team a majorĀ confidence boost, and suddenly the offense started to come alive.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Seahawks. (more…)

The Seattle Seahawks have released wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh after they were unable to trade him to another team.
Houshmandzadeh was on the hook for a big contract that the Seahawks did not feel was fair given his lack of production last season.
With a new head coach in the fold, Houshmandzadeh quickly found himself on the outside looking in when it came to playing time.
It’s hard to understand why the Seahawks would make such a drastic move given that Housh didn’t play all that bad despite injuries and quarterback troubles last year. (more…)
